Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championship

This unique outdoor event that began in 1995 is held in beautiful Harrison, Arkansas. The Festival will kick off on Friday evening at the Anstaff Soccer Complex! There will be a FREE concert, balloons tethered to the ground for the exciting Balloon Glow, and Vendors. The event will continue on Saturday morning, with more Balloon Race Competitions. The evening events will continue at the Anstaff Soccer Complex, where balloons are tethered to the ground for the exciting Balloon Glow and tethered rides on Saturday night. In conjunction with the tethered balloons, there will be food and fun for the entire family. The event will conclude Sunday morning with Balloon Race Competitions for all to enjoy. Come experience the “Hot Air Balloon Adventure” with us!

99 Miles of Bad Road is a gravel bicycle race starting and ending in Hardy, Arkansas. Expect every road surface type, with roughly 80% being unpaved. Don’t let the elevation profile of the GPX fool you – expect 10,000 feet of elevation gain. These are relentless rolling hills with an occasional punchy climb or sketchy descent. Everything from mud, dirt, gravel, concrete bridges, clay, crushed limestone, creek rocks, broken pavement, and more. This route earns it’s name. All finishers will receive a cool memento, plus unique custom awards. Oh, and we also have a 199 Mile route option…

Spring River’s Got Talent

Spring River Country’s Premiere Talent Show benefitting the Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce. For general information and information about being a contestant call 870-421-0131 The 2026 Spring River’s Got Talent Show will be held Sept 12 at the Civic Center. This is a singing only competition and anyone interesting in entering needs to go through an audition process of sending us a video of you singing solo without a back up band. You may have prerecorded music as back up both in the audition and at the event, or you can play your own instrument (or have one back up guitarist or keyboardist). It is best to upload your video to website or Facebook and send us a link to: info@sracc.org. Audition Videos must be received no later than August 17. Previous contestants that did not win can enter enter by sending an email of interest. Final decisions of who will be accepted for the contest will be made by August 30. Previous contestants are not automatically approved and will be rated along with every other entry by a team of judges. (PS: Must live in Sharp, Izzard or Fulton County)

Saturday, September 26, 2026, the Hardy History Association presents the 34th annual Hardy Homesteaders Day from 9:00am to 3:00pm in Loberg Park and along Main Street. Admission and all activities are free. This celebration of Hardy’s 1883 founding will have numerous demonstrations of traditional skills, music by multiple bands on multiple stages, children’s activities, and the tastes of open fire cooking. Demonstrations in most years include spinning, blacksmithing, roping, doll and candle making, butter churning, flint knapping, wood carving and woodstove and Dutch-oven cooking.
