Batesville will kick off Halloween this Saturday, Oct. 31, with a full day of events hosted by Main Street Batesville. The Main Street Spooktacular offers a blend of activities for children, families, and adults throughout the downtown area.
The festivities are set to begin with the 'Spooky Stacks' pancake breakfast at Sarah-Dipity from 9 to 11 a.m. Costumes and pajamas are encouraged for the $10-per-person breakfast. Thanks to community support, Main Street Batesville will cover the cost for the first 50 children in attendance.
From 10 a.m. to noon, children can prepare for the evening’s trick-or-treating by creating custom Block Printed Trick-or-Treat Bags with help from the Batesville Area Arts Council.
Later in the day, downtown Batesville businesses and organizations will take part in Trick-or-Treat Madness from 4 to 8 p.m., distributing candy across the district.
The celebrations will conclude with Boos & Brews, an adults-only costume party at The Board on 3rd featuring a DJ. Running from 9 p.m. to midnight, the party is open to those 21 and older, with $15 advance tickets and $20 admission at the door. Proceeds from the event will benefit Main Street Batesville.
“Downtown belongs to everyone, and we wanted this day to reflect that,” said Maggie Tipton-Smart, executive director of Main Street Batesville. “Whether you’re bringing your kids downtown in their costumes, supporting one of our local businesses, or ending the night with friends, there is a place for you here.”
Sponsors for the event include First Community Bank, Bad Boy Mowers, FNBC, Lyon College, Lifeplus, FutureFuel Chemical Co., and Smith Plumbing Inc.
