The Baxter County Election Commission has issued a Notice of Election ahead of the 2026 General Election, which is set for Tuesday, November 3. Early voting will commence on Monday, October 19, at First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home, located at 605 West 6th Street.
From October 19 through October 23, early voting hours will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, October 24, early voting will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The following week, between October 26 and October 30, early voting will resume from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with hours on Saturday, October 31, again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Monday, November 2, the last day of early voting, polling will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Election Day, November 3, voting centers across Baxter County will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The locations include:

Unofficial election results will be tallied and published at the Baxter County Courthouse, located at 1 East 7th Street in Mountain Home, starting at 7:30 p.m. on election night, November 3, and continuing until all votes are counted. Certification of the election results is scheduled for Friday, November 13, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The General Election ballot will include races for statewide offices such as Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Auditor. Federal contests include one U.S. Senate seat and the state’s 1st Congressional District. Countywide positions, including Justice of the Peace in District 8, and various mayoral and city council seats, will also be on the ballot. In addition, four proposed amendments to the Arkansas Constitution will be presented to voters.
Registered voters who wish to vote absentee can contact the Baxter County Clerk's Office to request a ballot. Requests can be made by phone at 870-425-3475 or 870-580-5602, or by email at elections@baxtercountyar.gov.
In the event of severe weather or other emergencies on Election Day, First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home will serve as the sole polling location. Emergency updates will be provided on the Baxter County website and by other local media outlets, including KTLO.
