The band Smash Mouth will take the stage at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on Friday, Oct. 30, as part of the 15th anniversary season of the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home (ASUMH) Performing Arts Series. The concert, scheduled for 7 p.m., is one of the marquee events in a lineup designed to showcase a broad range of cultural and artistic performances.
Ticket prices for the Smash Mouth concert are set at $60 for premium seating, $40 for general adult seating, and $20 for students. ASUMH has announced plans for a VIP meet-and-greet opportunity, though details on the offering have not yet been finalized.
The 2023-2024 Performing Arts Series, which began on Sept. 23 with a performance by Artrageous—a live painting and music show—will continue through March with six additional events. Upcoming performances include:
- Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul, Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. ($40 adults, $20 students). - John T. Edge, author of *House of Smoke*, Thursday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. (Free admission, tickets required). - *Christmas with the Nelsons,* featuring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. ($45 adults, $22.50 students). - Jonathan Blanchard: *From History to Hip Hop,* Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. (Free admission, tickets required). - Cirque Mechanics, Sunday, March 7, at 7 p.m. ($40 adults, $20 students).
The series is held at the Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center inside The Sheid and was launched in 2011 to enrich the cultural life of the region. Thousands of guests attend annually, according to ASUMH officials. A volunteer group known as the Performing Arts Council curates the schedule by researching and selecting acts. The council is chaired by Caroline Carroll, with members Tami Barrow, Denise Clarke, Kelly Householder-Giuliano, Jeff Quick, Katie Risk, Gayla Thompson, Terre Ware, and Lang Zimmerman.
Ticket sales account for roughly half the funding required to sustain the Performing Arts Series. The remainder is supported by patron sponsorships, which range from $250 to over $10,000. Higher-tier sponsors enjoy additional benefits, including season tickets, reserved parking, meet-and-greet access, and entry to patron receptions.
