A new Halloween attraction is set to open its doors Friday evening in the heart of downtown Batesville. The River Haunt Hotel, located at 171 West Main Street, offers a haunted experience on the former site of the historic Arlington and Marvin Hotel. The building, designed with a historic-style facade approved by the city's Historic District Commission, features multi-level rooms designed to evoke ghostly thrills.

The River Haunt Hotel will operate every Friday and Saturday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. throughout October, with its final weekend coinciding with Halloween. General admission is $15. For families and young children, a low-scare “lights-on” tour is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the haunted attraction will benefit the Batesville Downtown Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Main Street businesses and funding community improvement projects. Ticket holders will also receive discount cards for 10% off at participating downtown restaurants, providing an additional incentive to explore the area.

The River Haunt Hotel is organized by Suzanne Magouyrk and David Thompson, who recently announced the attraction's opening during local radio appearances.
