Lyon College is set to host a weekend of celebration as it merges its annual ScotsFest and homecoming events on campus in Batesville. The festivities begin Friday, October 27, and continue through Sunday, October 29, offering a variety of activities for students, alumni, and the community.

Friday's schedule includes the presentation of alumni awards for service and tenure, along with a directors’ reception at Highland House. Saturday serves as the main event day, starting at 8 a.m. Attendees can look forward to performances by five pipe bands, traditional Scottish athletic competitions, sheepdog demonstrations, a British car show, and the Robert Lewis Campbell Clan Village, featuring representatives from 13 Scottish clans.

Festivalgoers will also find authentic Scottish food, such as shortbread, meat pies, and Scotch eggs. At 4 p.m. on Saturday, the Lyon College football team will host Texas Lutheran University for its homecoming game at Bad Boy Mowers Stadium.

Saturday evening wraps up with a dinner party featuring Dr. Patrick Reagan and a late-night gathering at Polk and Paddle in downtown Batesville.

On Sunday, the weekend finale includes an Iona worship service, a Club 50 luncheon for graduates celebrating a 50-year milestone, a children’s fishing derby, and a president’s tea hosted by Dr. Melissa Taverner.

Most of the weekend’s activities are free for attendees, with the exception of entry to the entertainment tent. For a complete schedule and additional details, visit arscottishfest.com.
