The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) has lifted a precautionary boil water order for portions of Marion County served by Pyatt Waterworks. Pyatt Mayor Cindy St. Clair announced the decision on Friday afternoon in a statement.

The precautionary order was put in place after a water main break caused a loss of normal system pressure, which could have allowed contaminated water to enter the system. The ADH recommends boil orders in such situations to ensure public safety as testing is conducted to confirm water quality.

Pyatt Waterworks customers are no longer required to boil their water before consumption. Officials encourage residents to run their taps for a short period to clear any stagnant or discolored water from household pipes.

For further water system updates, the public is encouraged to contact Pyatt Waterworks or check with local officials.
