Joseph Perciful, a resident of the 1500 block of Sally Street in Jonesboro, was arrested on August 6, 2026, following an investigation by the Jonesboro Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. The arrest stems from a CyberTip received by the department on July 13, 2026, from a cloud storage company reporting suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) linked to an account.
Investigators traced the account to a phone number registered to Perciful. After obtaining a warrant, ICAC officers accessed the account and discovered multiple images of CSAM, along with personal photographs that helped identify Perciful.
On August 6, police executed a search warrant at Perciful’s residence, where he was taken into custody. Investigators seized his phone and reportedly uncovered additional CSAM on the device. Perciful has since been charged with possession or use of child sexual abuse material, as well as unlawful creation or distribution of deepfake visual material.
Perciful appeared before Judge Tommy Fowler, who set his bond at $500,000 cash or surety. As part of the bond conditions, Perciful is prohibited from accessing the internet. He is currently being held in the Craighead County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to officials.
