A Cave City man is facing multiple charges after Izard County deputies reportedly found him sitting in a woman’s car in her driveway with his pants undone, following a reported break-in on Tuesday night.
Timothy E. Strain, 46, has been charged with breaking or entering, a Class D felony, as well as misdemeanor counts of first-degree criminal mischief and theft of property, according to an affidavit filed in Izard County Circuit Court.
Authorities say they were dispatched to a residence on Orchard Lane in Horseshoe Bend around 9 p.m. after the homeowner reported seeing a man without pants break into her car. Upon arrival, a deputy located Strain inside the vehicle, zipping up his pants. Strain reportedly told deputies he was looking for his wallet and medication, though the homeowner stated she did not know him, officials said.
During questioning, Strain allegedly gave inconsistent accounts regarding the individuals he was with and how he arrived at the property. Deputies discovered a necklace belonging to the homeowner in Strain’s possession and returned it to her. They also documented damage to the vehicle’s hatch, estimating the repair cost at approximately $1,000.
Strain was arrested and later booked into custody. His bond was set at $25,000.
