A North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) employee was injured Thursday morning while working in the Ozark Acres area of Sharp County. The worker, whose name has not been released, was flown to a hospital in Little Rock for treatment.
NAEC CEO Mel Coleman expressed gratitude for the prompt response by local emergency personnel and the co-op’s crew. In a statement, Coleman said, "We are thankful for the quick response of our right-of-way crew and local emergency personnel. Please join us in praying for him and his loved ones."
Coleman added that the cooperative prioritizes the safety of its employees and will review the circumstances surrounding the incident. "Our employees’ safety is always our top priority. We continually strive to better our existing safety protocols and will review Thursday’s event thoroughly," he said.
