Three people were taken into custody on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, and booked into the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Detention Center on drug-related charges, according to authorities.
Barbara Marie Anderson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia related to methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, or fentanyl. Maria Clairday faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Leslie Marion Gates was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as well as possession with intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
All three remain in the detention center awaiting bond hearings and court dates. Additional details about the arrests, including the circumstances leading up to them, were not immediately available.
