The Mountain Home Band Boosters are stepping up to support one of the district's fastest-growing student programs. With more than 140 sixth-grade students expected to join the beginning band this fall, Band Booster President Clint Czeschin reports a significant increase in participation compared to last year.
The organization’s primary focus as the school year begins is fundraising to meet the increased demands of a growing music program. Czeschin explained that donations help cover essential expenses such as travel, meals, equipment, and hydration supplies for practices and competitions. These funds also enable the high school marching band to perform at various events throughout the season without passing on additional participation fees to students, a practice common in other districts.
One of the boosters' largest fundraising efforts involves running concession stands during sports events, including football season and spring sports. Volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that the operation generates enough revenue to support the band’s expanding needs.
The high school marching band has already begun rehearsals in preparation for the upcoming football season, with their first appearance set for August 28 at a matchup against the Farmington Cardinals. During this season opener, the district will hold a special mass band performance featuring more than 400 students from across all grade levels, coming together to honor first responders and veterans.
