JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man has been charged with a Class D felony after allegedly threatening to harm two former managers at his previous workplace.
Courtland Blake, 28, appeared before Special Judge Ralph Wilson on charges of terroristic threatening and threatening physical injury or property damage. Wilson found probable cause for the charge and set Blake’s bond at $65,000 cash or surety, according to police and court documents.
The charges stem from a police response on Monday, Aug. 3, to the 9400 block of East Highland Drive in Jonesboro. Officers were dispatched to the location after receiving reports of a person allegedly armed and making threats.
According to a probable cause affidavit, investigators determined that Blake had been fired from the business a week earlier and did not have a legitimate reason to be on the property. Witnesses told police that Blake appeared to be waiting for two specific managers to exit the building. He then reportedly stated his intent to shoot them.
Further investigation uncovered a Facebook Live video in which Blake was visibly upset and complained about not being paid, as well as the company’s policies regarding access to the property.
During an interview with investigators, Blake allegedly admitted to making additional threats, saying he would burn down the business.
Blake remains in custody as of this report, pending further legal proceedings.
