A Tennessee murder suspect was taken into custody in Arkansas after a high-speed chase that reached 120 mph and ended in a crash early on July 31, according to law enforcement officials.
Trumann Police reported that the pursuit began around 2 a.m. when Marion Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling without headlights on Interstate 555. The driver refused to pull over, sparking a chase that continued toward the Trumann city limits.
Authorities said an Arkansas State Police trooper utilized a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver to force the vehicle off the road, causing it to overturn in a ditch. A Trumann officer on the scene removed the driver from the vehicle and placed him under arrest.
The driver was identified as 31-year-old Lamarkius Ross. Police said Ross was wanted in Tennessee on several felony warrants, including first-degree murder, two counts of felony weapon possession, and felony firearm violence. Following his capture, Ross was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro for a medical evaluation.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further information has been released at this time.
