The Mountain Home Bomber tennis teams opened their 2026 season on Monday afternoon with a quad match in Searcy, competing against Conway, Searcy, and Texarkana. The tournament saw impressive individual performances from both the boys and girls teams.

In boys' singles, Oakley Recktenwald achieved a standout performance, finishing undefeated at 3-0 to secure the individual title. His teammate Chandler Jones ended the day with a 1-1 record, while Elijah Grace fell to Searcy’s player 6-3 in his only match.

On the doubles side, Nathan Mooney and Max Goodwin posted a 1-2 record, including a split with Texarkana and a hard-fought loss in extra points against Conway. The team of Anthony Jones and Riley Edwards fared better, finishing 2-1. Their only defeat came at the hands of Conway.

The girls' matches were highlighted by Mary Charles McConnell, who swept her singles competition by defeating players from Searcy, Conway, and her teammate Addison Decker in the finals. McConnell’s victory over Decker marked Decker’s sole loss of the day, as she went on to finish 2-1 overall after falling 8-3 in the final.

In girls' doubles, Kiana Talbot and Jentry Souder delivered a solid outing, ending with a 2-1 record, which included a thrilling 11-9 victory in extra points over Searcy. Meanwhile, the pairing of Berkley Decker and Nicola Talbot also secured a 2-1 finish, earning wins over Texarkana but falling to Conway.

Mountain Home’s next matches will take place 22 days later, when they face Greenwood and Siloam Springs on August 25.
