The second annual Baxter Health Foundation Bass Classic is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at Norfork Lake. Tournament check-in begins at 5 a.m. at the Lake Norfork Marina.
Prior to the tournament, the Baxter Health Foundation will host a banquet on Thursday, October 22, at the Baxter Health and Wellness Education Center. Cindy Costa, a Gift Officer for the foundation, described the event as the organization's marquee gathering of the year.
Tickets for the banquet are $50 per person and include a choice of fish or chicken tenders for dinner, with wine and beer available. Live music will provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Last year's tournament featured 80 boats and received significant community and volunteer support. Costa expressed appreciation for the help that made the event's first year a success and emphasized how community involvement is vital to this year’s effort.
Proceeds from the Bass Classic go to support programs and initiatives at Baxter Health, making it an opportunity for residents to contribute directly to their community hospital.
