The Mountain Home Education Foundation (MHEF) has announced six inductees for its 2026 Hall of Honor. The honorees are being recognized for their accomplishments, service, and commitment, which have left a lasting impact on Mountain Home Public Schools and the wider community.
This year’s inductees include Kevin Scherer and Victor Quinn Hill, who will receive the Outstanding Alumni Award; Sondra Hoffman and Jeff Kincade, honored with the Outstanding Faculty Award; and Todd Gilbert and Jodi Strothers, recipients of the Bob Knight Bomber Spirit Award.
“These honorees exemplify the values that define the Mountain Home community: excellence, leadership, service, and generosity,” said Mollie Morgan, Executive Director of the Mountain Home Education Foundation. “We are thrilled to recognize their remarkable contributions.”
The awards will be presented at the 2026 Night of Honors, scheduled for Thursday, October 1, at the Mountain Home Community Center.
### Outstanding Alumni Kevin Scherer, a 1985 graduate of Mountain Home High School, has dedicated his career to ministry, counseling, and humanitarian efforts. A former Eastern Orthodox priest with two graduate degrees in theology, Scherer has over two decades of pastoral counseling experience. His career has included serving as a chaplain at Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks and providing support after the Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University shootings. Scherer has also worked with disaster response teams and authored several publications focused on hope, healing, and dignity.
Victor Quinn Hill, a 2011 graduate, has built a successful career in the music industry. As the longtime drummer for Grammy Award-winning artist Ashley McBryde, Hill has toured internationally for more than a decade. He also produces McBryde’s behind-the-scenes web series, _Made For This_, and is the founder of Ritual Thread Company, a lifestyle brand aimed at fostering positive and meaningful connections.
### Outstanding Faculty Sondra Hoffman, a 1980 graduate and lifelong educator, served Mountain Home Public Schools for 33 years in various roles. Her leadership extended to literacy and curriculum development initiatives, and she was recognized as the 2024 Mountain Home Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Hoffman also contributed to the district by homeschooling her children and teaching parenting classes during a brief break from her formal teaching career.
Jeff Kincade, a 1988 graduate, transformed alternative education in Mountain Home as the leader of Guy Berry College & Career Academy. Under his leadership, the academy received state recognition as a model program, and Kincade was named the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators’ Administrator of the Year. He also implemented career-centered initiatives, including a student-run chicken coop and a program for young adults to complete their high school diplomas.
### Bob Knight Bomber Spirit Award Todd Gilbert, a 1988 graduate, and Jodi Strothers, a 1986 graduate, are being honored with the Bob Knight Bomber Spirit Award for their exceptional volunteerism and generosity. Both have contributed to numerous community initiatives, including strengthening local education, healthcare, and charitable efforts. Their ongoing service reflects the generosity and community spirit celebrated by the award, named after alum Bob Knight.
