Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander has reported that one person was found deceased following a house fire in the Rea Valley area.

On August 1, at approximately 8:28 a.m., the Marion County Emergency 911 Center received a report of a structure fire on County Road 6068. Firefighters from the Flippin and Rea Valley Volunteer Fire Departments arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was extinguished, fire department personnel discovered a body inside the damaged structure. The victim’s body was transported to the Marion County Coroner’s Office and will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

The scene was processed by investigators, and interviews were conducted with individuals on-site. Authorities have stated the investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as new details emerge.

Multiple agencies assisted in the response, including the Rea Valley, Flippin, Yellville, Summit, and Fairview volunteer fire departments.

Sheriff Alexander noted that efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fire and the resulting fatality are continuing.
