Arkansas State University–Mountain Home (ASUMH) has announced a significant expansion of its Mountain Home Art Walk with the launch of a national Call for Entry for its new Visiting Artists Series. The initiative will bring rotating outdoor sculpture exhibitions to the Twin Lakes Region twice annually, showcasing the work of artists from across the United States.
The program is supported by a three-year sponsorship from Jim Brown Company, which joins as the presenting sponsor. The partnership will provide funding for artist stipends, exhibition programming, and continued development of the Mountain Home Art Walk as a regional hub for arts and culture.
Dr. Bentley Wallace, Chancellor of ASUMH, emphasized the impact of public art on communities. “Public art has the power to inspire conversation, strengthen communities, and create lasting cultural experiences,” Wallace said. “We are thrilled to launch this national opportunity for artists while celebrating the generous support of Jim Brown Company, whose investment will help make this exciting new program possible for years to come.”
The Visiting Artists Series will feature 10 to 12 sculptures selected through a juried application process. Artists chosen will receive a $1,000 stipend to offset costs associated with travel, transportation, and installation. Selected works will be displayed in outdoor exhibits for approximately five months, with artists retaining the ability to sell their pieces during the exhibition.
Submissions are being accepted through the Call for Entry (CaFE) platform until September 15, 2026. A panel of jurors will review applications, with notifications to artists expected by late September 2026 and installations to begin on October 15, 2026.
Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams celebrated the expansion of the program. “The Mountain Home Art Walk has become a tremendous community asset, attracting visitors while enhancing the quality of life for our residents,” Adams said. “We’re grateful for Jim Brown Company’s investment in this exciting new Visiting Artists Series, which will bring outstanding sculpture and talented artists from across the country to Mountain Home. This partnership continues to strengthen our community’s reputation as a destination for arts, culture, and outdoor recreation.”
The Mountain Home Art Walk includes both permanent and rotating sculptures installed along the James and Sally Moore Recreational Trail and the Shirley Baker Nature Trail, which runs beneath the U.S. Highway 62 Bypass. The new Visiting Artists Series will add fresh pieces to these trails twice a year, giving visitors new reasons to enjoy the evolving collection.
ASUMH encourages sculptors, galleries, arts organizations, and the public to spread awareness about the Call for Entry to attract a diverse pool of applicants.
