A low-cost spay and neuter clinic is being held at the Hardy Civic Center in Sharp County, offering discounted services for residents seeking to care for their pets. Organizers announced that this is the final clinic of the year and have scheduled the event to start on Monday rather than its usual Tuesday.
Surgeries for cats and small dogs (weighing 15 pounds or less) will be conducted on the first day, while the second day is reserved exclusively for cats. Dog surgeries will begin after cat procedures are completed, which may require late afternoon or early evening pick-up times depending on the clinic’s schedule.
Organizers plan to schedule 100 surgeries on the first day and 50 on the second. Vaccinations will only be available for pets undergoing surgery. Scheduling for the clinic begins on November 9.
Assistance for the clinic comes from a Giving Tree Grant provided by the Sharp County Community Foundation. Organizers expressed hope that the support will enable residents with financial constraints to access spay and neuter services. Pet owners are encouraged to ask about $25 coupons when they schedule appointments to take advantage of the reduced cost.
The clinic is also sponsored by Centennial Bank, which has supported previous events. Organizers are currently seeking an additional sponsor to help cover remaining rental fees for the space.
For those interested, the Hardy Civic Center will welcome pet owners willing to travel for the services, and appointments can be scheduled beginning November 9.
