A Jonesboro man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison following his guilty plea to possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Anthony K. Graves, 35, admitted guilt to six counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing material depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony under Arkansas law.
According to a sentencing order issued by Circuit Judge Randy Philhours, Graves will serve 120 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for each count, with the terms running consecutively for a total of 720 months.
Fourteen additional CSAM-related charges and two drug-related charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Graves was also ordered to register as a sex offender and pay all associated court costs, fees, and fines, including a $500 cybercrime fee and a sex offender fee.
The case began on April 10, after Jonesboro Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Division received a tip from the FBI. Authorities alleged that Graves possessed CSAM depicting children younger than age 6 on his laptop.
On May 6, the Jonesboro SWAT team executed a search warrant at Graves' home on Orval Cove. Police arrested Graves and seized multiple electronic devices from the residence.
In addition to the CSAM-related evidence, investigators reported discovering suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe during the search, according to the affidavit.
Graves' sentence reflects Arkansas' strict penalties for offenses related to child exploitation and abuse materials.
