MOUNTAIN HOME — Into the Light, a nonprofit organization working to combat child sex trafficking and support survivors, is hosting its annual 'Light of the World' benefit concert this Saturday. The event will take place at The Sheid on the Arkansas State University–Mountain Home campus from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The concert will feature the nationally acclaimed Birmingham-based band, Act of Congress, and aims to unite community members, partners, and supporters in raising awareness and funds for the organization's mission. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear stories of hope and learn about the impact Into the Light has made across Arkansas. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., with tickets priced at $25. For additional information about the concert, the public may contact 870-706-4507.

Gretchen Smeltzer, Executive Director of Into the Light, and Jo Lisa Blossom, Development Director, emphasized the importance of partnerships in survivor care and advocacy. According to Smeltzer, these efforts are vital for helping children and families overcome the long-term challenges associated with trafficking. Blossom highlighted how events like the concert foster community involvement and support.

In addition to the concert, Into the Light is hosting the second annual pickleball tournament on Tuesday, November 14, at Legacy Racquet and Fitness in Mountain Home. Registration is $35 per player, with sign-ups closing on November 10. Interested participants can call Legacy Racquet and Fitness at 870-425-4342 for more details.

Both events aim to raise funds and awareness to aid survivors of trafficking. Over the years, Into the Light has worked with various agencies across the state to provide compassionate, long-term care for children and to advocate for systemic changes to address trafficking in Arkansas.
