JONESBORO, Ark. — Portions of Main Street in Jonesboro will close on Friday, Nov. 6, for an event expected to draw residents and visitors to the area.
City officials announced that the 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street, located between Washington and Cate avenues, will be closed to all traffic from 8 a.m. until midnight.
The temporary closure will allow for the Grain & Gather Block Party, an event hosted by Arkansas Rice, which is scheduled to take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The celebration will feature live music, local vendors, and special rice-themed dishes provided by downtown restaurants.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution and plan alternate routes to avoid the closed streets.
