The 2026-27 Mountain Home Public Schools athletics calendar officially begins today with the opening of the Calvin and Sissy Czeschin Memorial Golf Tournament. The event will be hosted at Big Creek Country Club in Mountain Home, bringing together high school golf teams from across Arkansas.

According to Bomber Golf Head Coach Brad Morris, all home matches for the Mountain Home teams will take place at Big Creek. Morris highlighted the quality of the course, sharing that teams from across the state admire the venue and the opportunities it offers to student-athletes in the Mountain Home community.

The Bombers will tee off the first day of the tournament at noon today. The second day of play is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Morris also spoke about the strong roster returning for this school year, including standout golfer Cody Cormican, described by the coach as one of the best players in Arkansas. With Cormican and other talented athletes, Mountain Home Golf looks to have a promising season ahead.

The tournament, held annually, serves as a key early-season test for competing teams and honors the memory of Calvin and Sissy Czeschin. Results from the two-day event are expected to provide valuable insight into the outlook for the rest of the year.
