JONESBORO, Ark. — A shooting on Wednesday afternoon in Jonesboro has left one person dead and another injured, according to the Jonesboro Police Department.
Police received a call at 3:46 p.m. on November 4 reporting the incident in the 3400 block of Preakness Drive. Officers arrived to find two victims at the scene, said police spokesperson Sally Smith.
One of the victims died from their injuries, officials confirmed. A second victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a wound described as non-life-threatening.
Authorities have detained a person of interest in connection with the incident, although no further details about their identity or potential charges have been released.
The Jonesboro Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division is actively investigating the case.
