Firefighters from the Valley Springs Fire Department responded to two mobile home fires overnight on Saturday and into early Sunday. Both incidents were controlled without any reported injuries.
The first call came in around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, reporting a residence filled with smoke in Everton. When crews arrived, they found a mobile home already heavily engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the Harrison Fire Department, Western Grove Fire Department, and Pyatt Rural Fire and Defense joined in providing mutual aid. Emergency personnel were able to bring the majority of the fire under control before conducting overhaul operations to eliminate any remaining hot spots.
Hours later, at approximately 5:15 a.m. Sunday, the Valley Springs department was in the process of cleaning equipment and returning two engines to service when another call came in. This time, the Western Grove Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home fire in Piercetown. Valley Springs sent both fire engines to assist. Responding crews found the mobile home in the decay stage of the fire and extinguished the remaining flames. Multiple Newton County fire departments also participated in the efforts.
No injuries were reported in connection with either fire. Valley Springs authorities have not released the causes of the fires as of Sunday evening.
