The Mountain Home High School NJROTC precision air rifle team secured its second consecutive win by defeating Austin E. Lathrop AJROTC of Fairbanks, Alaska, in a Week 5 matchup of the 2026 National Precision Air Rifle League. The Bombers posted a total score of 2,240.4, outpacing Lathrop's 2,188.5, and improved to 3–1 for the season. Lathrop remains winless at 0–4.

Aspen Douglas led Mountain Home with a score of 566.5, followed by teammates Karhys Herbert, Aaron Hale, and Aldyn Buterbaugh. Despite Lathrop’s Fox Neuhaus achieving the match’s highest individual score with 577.6, Mountain Home’s depth secured the victory. The Bombers claimed three of the four lineup spots, including a decisive 27.8-point margin in the fourth slot.

The match started with Mountain Home ahead by 10.4 points after the first 10 shots. The lead narrowed to 5.4 after 30 shots, but the Bombers pulled away over the final 30, extending their margin to 28.3 by the 40-shot mark and closing the match 51.9 points ahead.

Coached by Chief Jason Williams, Mountain Home competes in the JROTC Distinguished Division of the league. The team began its season with a loss to Eldorado MCJROTC of Albuquerque, New Mexico, before participating in the Joe Sharbel Fall Classic during its Week 2 bye. Recently, the program received a $5,000 donation from the annual Second Amendment Dinner to support expenses including equipment, travel, and electronic targets.

Mountain Home will next face North Forsyth MCJROTC of Cumming, Georgia, which currently holds a 2–2 record.
