An Izard County man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a routine traffic stop south of Mountain Home, according to the Baxter County Sheriff's Office.

Donnie Swanson, 35, of Dolph, was stopped on Highway 5 by a Baxter County deputy who had observed his truck swerving between lanes.

During the stop, the deputy reported detecting a strong odor coming from the vehicle's cabin. Upon searching the truck, the deputy found several items of drug paraphernalia, including a smoking pipe, and substances suspected to be methamphetamine and cocaine, according to authorities.

Swanson was taken into custody and is being held at the Baxter County Detention Center while prosecutors prepare formal charges. No further details were immediately available.

Officials encourage anyone with information about suspected drug activity in the area to contact local law enforcement.
