Arkansas’ general revenue collections surpassed expectations in October, with increases recorded across multiple major tax categories, according to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA). The October 2026 General Revenue Report, released on Nov. 3, indicates that net available general revenue for the month totaled $570.6 million. This figure marks a $67 million, or 13.3%, increase compared to October 2025 and exceeds the state’s forecast by $49.2 million, or 9.4%.

Gross general revenues for October reached $692.5 million, reflecting a $63.1 million, or 10%, year-over-year increase. This performance also outpaced the forecast by $45.4 million.

Sales and use tax collections, one of the key revenue sources, brought in $329.6 million, an 8.3% rise from October 2025 levels. Double-digit growth was reported in sectors including utilities, manufacturing, construction, and accommodation and food services. Retail trade revenue also grew by 8.3%. However, motor vehicle collections declined by 3.2%.

Individual income tax collections reached $291 million, up 9.1% compared to the previous October and 4.5% above forecast. Corporate income tax collections saw the most significant growth, totaling $37.5 million—a 57.1% increase from October 2025 and $11.7 million above forecast. The report attributed a portion of the individual income tax gains to a shift in the timing of certain return payments from last year. A disaster relief extension pushed the 2025 filing deadline to December, moving some October payments into later months.

For the first four months of fiscal year 2027, which began in July, net available general revenues have reached approximately $2.48 billion. This represents a $214.4 million, or 9.5%, increase over the same period in fiscal year 2026 and is $153.7 million, or 6.6%, above forecast. Gross general revenues totaled roughly $2.86 billion for the fiscal year to date, marking a 7.9% increase from last year and exceeding the forecast by 5.7%.
