The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved $1.1 million in funding to rebuild the Antioch Bridge in Izard County, which was severely damaged during a flood in April 2025.
According to the Izard County Office of Emergency Management, the funding approval follows extensive discussions and planning efforts involving County Judge Eric Smith, state officials, and FEMA representatives. These meetings, project updates, and engineering evaluations have helped ensure progress on reconstruction since the bridge’s initial damage.
The rebuilding project is expected to be completed between Thanksgiving and Christmas, bringing relief to residents who have faced disruptions in transportation since the flood.
More updates on construction timelines are anticipated as work progresses.
