The Baxter County Quorum Court unanimously approved two agenda items during its brief meeting Monday at the Baxter County Courthouse. The session lasted approximately 22 minutes.

The court passed an ordinance appropriating $6,586.46 in fees and reimbursements received by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office in September. The funds were allocated to several accounts, including the County General Fund, Animal Control Fund, Sheriff’s Special Projects Fund, and County Jail Fund, for designated expenses.

Additionally, the court approved a resolution appointing Rich Geib to the Rodney-Jordan Volunteer Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners. Geib will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Jerry Klaus.

During the meeting, Amanda Rychtarik of the County Extension Office provided a presentation detailing the office's services, programs, and its collaborative efforts with local schools and 4-H programs.

In a final announcement, Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty introduced Tim Cheney as the county’s new Veterans Services Officer. Cheney will succeed Charles Leonard, who is retiring after 10 years of service in the role.
