A 24-year-old woman from Izard County is facing multiple charges, including two felonies, after an alleged series of violent incidents sparked by seeing her ex-boyfriend with another woman at a Mountain Home bar.
Alexandra Vredenburg, of Dolph, is charged with felony counts of residential burglary and criminal mischief, as well as misdemeanor counts of third-degree battery and public intoxication, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department.
Police were called to a downtown Mountain Home bar after receiving a report of a suicidal woman who had allegedly cut herself. Officers made contact with Vredenburg, who explained that she had injured her hand but did not require medical attention. She admitted to being upset after seeing her ex-boyfriend with someone else at the bar, the affidavit states.
Later in the evening, officers were dispatched to a nearby residence over a possible burglary. Upon arrival, they found blood on the doorknob and inside the home. A television had been smashed, showing a boot print that officers believed was consistent with Vredenburg’s footwear. All four tires of a vehicle in the garage had been slashed, and a bloodied knife was discovered on the car's hood, the affidavit states.
The victim, identified as Vredenburg’s ex-boyfriend, told police he suspected her of causing the damage. He reported that earlier in the evening at the bar, she had struck him in the face with both open and closed hands. Officers noted red marks on his face consistent with his account.
Vredenburg was apprehended at the bar, and a photograph of her boot sole was compared to the print on the damaged television, reportedly matching. Additionally, blood was found inside and near the driver’s side of her vehicle.
Vredenburg was arrested and later released on a $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges.
