The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas is collaborating with Jiffy Laundry and local radio stations KTLO, Classic Hits, and The Boot to provide warm clothing for students in need as colder weather sets in.

This year’s Hoodie Drive began Monday and will continue through November 20. Organizers shifted their focus in 2022 from traditional coats to hoodies after recognizing that many students prefer wearing hooded sweatshirts during the winter months. The goal is to offer a practical and comfortable garment that students will be more likely to use.

Community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used hoodies at any of the three designated drop-off locations in Mountain Home: the KTLO, Classic Hits, and The Boot office at 620 Highway 5 North; Jiffy Laundry at 1299 South Main Street; and the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas at 1042 Highland Circle. All collected items will be professionally cleaned before being distributed to local schools.

Last year, the drive resulted in over 400 hoodies being delivered to students. Organizers hope to surpass that number this year to ensure even more children have access to warm clothing this winter.
