Police in Paragould have arrested a man accused of threatening to shoot people in a local bar’s parking lot after closing time.

According to an affidavit, officers responded to a disturbance at the bar on Nov. 1 after receiving reports of a fight.

Court documents state that Marcus James Taylor objected to the bar’s last call announcement and became upset when staff informed him it was time to leave. A friend and other patrons reportedly tried to escort him outside to his ride.

During the commotion, Taylor allegedly began cursing at staff and customers and threatened to "shoot everyone in this parking lot," according to Lt. Jack Hailey’s statement in the affidavit.

Greene County District Court Judge Curtis Hitt found probable cause on Monday to charge Taylor with one count of first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony.

Taylor was taken into custody and is being held at the Greene County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. If released, the judge ordered that Taylor must have no contact with the victims or witnesses and may not possess any weapons.

The investigation is ongoing.
