The U.S. Geological Survey reported a minor earthquake in Fulton County on Sunday night, November 1.

The magnitude 2.2 tremor occurred at 9:10 p.m., based on a preliminary report from USGS. The earthquake's epicenter was located 4.4 miles north-northwest of Salem, Arkansas, and 20.4 miles south of West Plains, Missouri. It had a recorded depth of 1.86 miles beneath the surface.

As of Monday morning, no reports had been submitted to USGS by people feeling the quake. Fulton County, situated in northern Arkansas, occasionally experiences minor seismic activity due to its proximity to the New Madrid Seismic Zone, one of the most seismically active areas in the region.

Residents who experience earthquakes, even minor ones, are encouraged to report their observations to the USGS, which helps refine seismic data and improve future monitoring.

Further updates on seismic activity in the area will be provided as information becomes available.
