The Twin Lakes area received overnight rainfall, marking a welcome change in weather. A total of 0.48 inches of light rain was recorded overnight, with the National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock predicting more precipitation in the coming days.

According to meteorologist Joe Goudsward from NWS, the region faces a 30 percent chance of rain today, increasing to 70 percent by Monday night and rising further to 90 percent on Tuesday. Extended forecasts also predict colder temperatures with a possibility of additional precipitation, though frost this week is unlikely, Goudsward said.

Despite the expected rainfall, drought conditions in the Twin Lakes area remain a concern. The region has faced persistent dry conditions, and the anticipated precipitation is not expected to fully alleviate them.

Looking ahead, Goudsward noted that an El Niño weather pattern is expected to influence the area over the next few months. This pattern could result in increased snow likelihood during the winter season.
