GTS Physical Therapy is sponsoring the Trick or Trot 5K today at the Salem Fairgrounds. The event, which includes a costume contest and cash prizes, aims to raise funds for the Salem School Care Closet, a program designed to support students in need.
Callen Ray of GTS Physical Therapy explained that registration costs $15, with all proceeds going to the Care Closet. The program provides students at Salem schools with essential items such as school supplies, clothing, hygiene products, and shelf-stable foods that students can access as needed.
“We started the Care Closet to meet the needs of local students and want to ensure it continues with the support of community donations and partners,” Ray said.
Check-in for the 5K begins at 2:30 p.m., with the race starting at 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, and participants will also compete for best costume honors.
