Highland School District will close all campuses on Friday, Oct. 30, for inspections and air quality testing of HVAC systems, according to district officials.
The issue stems from moisture found in classroom HVAC closets within a section of Cherokee Elementary School earlier this week, as announced in a statement from the district on social media. The inspections aim to ensure the safety and functionality of these systems.
While Highland Preschool will remain open, other campuses are closing to keep all students and staff on the same academic calendar. Classes are expected to resume as scheduled on Monday, Nov. 2.
Further details about any potential long-term impacts were not immediately disclosed.
