The Mountain Home Bombers (7-1) head to Van Buren on Friday night for their final regular-season road game, with significant postseason implications on the line. Mountain Home will take on the Van Buren Pointers in what is expected to be a consequential and hard-fought matchup. The Bombers currently hold an 11-8-2 series lead over the Pointers, including a decisive 44-20 victory last year.
Both teams remain undefeated in 6A-West conference play, and their defenses rank among the best in Arkansas' Class 6A. The outcome of this contest will help determine the playoff picture, with a win securing Mountain Home a No. 1 seed in the 6A state playoffs and at least a share of the conference title.
Bombers Head Coach Steve Ary expressed confidence in his team and praised kicker and punter Isaac Ballard as a game-changing asset. Ary noted the Pointers have consistently been a tough opponent over the years, often adjusting their style based on the strengths of their roster each season.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Citizens Bank Stadium at Blakemore Field in Van Buren. Fans can catch the action on Classic Hits 101.7, through live streaming on the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube, mhbombersports.com, and the Mountain Home Athletics App. Pregame coverage begins at 6:00 p.m.
