Jonesboro, Ark. — The KAIT Storm Team has introduced the new Brookland Roofing and Construction StormTracker, a vehicle designed to deliver cutting-edge weather coverage to the region.
The StormTracker, a 2026 Chevy Silverado, is equipped with advanced weather sensors, five high-resolution cameras, and roof-mounted lighting to assist in monitoring and reporting severe weather conditions.
Meteorologist Micah Stevens stated the new vehicle is the most powerful and technologically advanced StormTracker ever utilized by the KAIT Storm Team.
In addition to providing updates during severe weather, the custom-built truck will be used for educational outreach, including school visits and community events, to engage and inform residents about weather safety.
"From top to bottom, the StormTracker is full of fun and informational material," Stevens said, highlighting the vehicle's dual role in both public education and real-time reporting.
The team aims to use the truck to enhance its ability to keep viewers informed, whether conditions are calm or severe. For further details or updates, viewers are encouraged to stay connected to KAIT's programming and online platforms.
