The Highland School District announced that all campuses will be closed to students on Friday, October 30, after moisture was discovered in HVAC closets in a section of Cherokee Elementary School earlier this week.
District officials stated that additional inspections and air quality testing are being conducted to ensure the safety and health of students and staff at the school. To maintain consistent scheduling across the district, all Highland School District campuses will close to students on Friday. Certified staff will use the day for professional development.
The Highland Preschool, however, will remain open and operate on its normal schedule.
Classes for all district campuses are expected to resume on Monday, November 2. The school district expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding, patience, and cooperation as it addresses the situation.
