The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has announced that a portion of West Main Street in Walnut Ridge will be closed temporarily on Thursday, October 29, to allow crews to replace drainage tiles. The closure is scheduled to begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. and continue for most of the day.

The work will impact access to the Lawrence County Family Clinic and the Family Clinic Pharmacy, which are located near the intersection of West Main Street and B Avenue. To reach these businesses during the closure, motorists are advised to use an alternate route.

The suggested detour begins on West Main Street. Drivers should turn north onto A Avenue, continue to 2nd Avenue, and then turn left. From 2nd Avenue, motorists should turn left onto B Avenue and proceed to the clinic and pharmacy, entering through the designated driveways. A map outlining the affected area and the alternate route has been provided to aid drivers.

ARDOT urges all motorists to exercise caution, reduce speeds, and remain mindful of construction workers and equipment in the area. The department has expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation as this infrastructure improvement is carried out.

For additional updates on this project, motorists are encouraged to monitor local traffic advisories.
