A benefit concert and pickleball tournament in Mountain Home will support 'Into the Light,' a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating child sex trafficking and supporting survivors across Arkansas.
The 'Light of the World' concert will take place on November 7 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. The event will feature the nationally acclaimed Birmingham-based band, Act of Congress. Tickets are $25, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy live music while learning about the organization’s mission and its efforts to provide long-term advocacy for survivors.
'Into the Light' Executive Director Gretchen Smeltzer and Development Director Jo Lisa Blossom expressed that the event is a celebration of the partnerships that strengthen survivor care across the state. The concert will include stories of impact and highlight the role community support plays in creating lasting hope for children and families affected by trafficking.
The second annual pickleball tournament, also benefiting 'Into the Light,' is scheduled for November 14 at Legacy Racquet and Fitness in Mountain Home. Registration is $35 per player and must be completed by November 10. To register, participants can call Legacy Racquet and Fitness at 870-425-4342.
