Arkansas State quarterback Trey Owens has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in a 38-32 homecoming victory over Georgia State, the league office announced on Monday.

Owens delivered a commanding display during Saturday’s game, becoming the 10th Arkansas State quarterback since 1995 to both pass for multiple touchdowns and rush for multiple touchdowns in the same contest. He is the first to achieve this distinction since Jaylen Raynor accomplished it against Texas State last season. Owens completed 21 of 32 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing eight times for 36 yards and two scores. This marks his third game this season with multiple touchdown passes and his first with multiple rushing touchdowns.

The Red Wolves, now heading into a bye week, will next play against ULM on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. The game will take place at Centennial Bank Stadium and can be viewed on ESPN+, with radio coverage available through the EAB Red Wolves Sports Network, including flagship station 107.9 KFIN in Jonesboro.
