White River Health will host a free community event focused on breast health this Tuesday in Batesville. The Breast Health Talk and Dinner is set to begin at 6 p.m. on October 27 at the White River Medical Center Conference Center.

Dr. Lindsay Devereux, a general surgeon with White River Health Surgery Clinic, will lead an interactive presentation on breast health. In addition to sharing medical insight, the program will feature personal accounts of breast cancer and survivorship from three healthcare professionals: Alisha Hightower, an advanced practice registered nurse; Crystal McSpadden, a registered nurse; and Janet Pierson, a certified registered nurse anesthetist.

Marianne Lotito, a genetic counselor with Myriad Genetics, is also scheduled to discuss the role of genetic counseling in breast cancer awareness and prevention.

The event is designed to educate the public about breast health while providing both professional and personal perspectives. Myriad Genetics is sponsoring a complimentary dinner for attendees.

The event is free and open to individuals of all ages, with no prior registration required. Visitors are encouraged to enter the White River Medical Center through the Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women and Imaging.
