The Cotter Lady Warriors volleyball team is heading to Piggott on Monday to compete in the opening round of the 2A State Volleyball Championship. Cotter secured their spot after defeating St. Joseph Catholic last Thursday to claim the district championship.
The Lady Warriors bring an impressive 28-3 season record into the state tournament and will face Ridgefield Christian at noon on Monday. Should Cotter win, they would move on to play in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against either Ozark Catholic or Columbia Christian.
Izard County will also participate in the state tournament. Their opening match is scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. against Palestine-Wheatley.
Both teams aim for strong showings as they represent their schools and districts in the highly competitive state championship.
