The 16th annual Taste of the Twin Lakes is set to take place this evening at the Baxter County Fairgrounds in Mountain Home, offering attendees the chance to sample dishes from a variety of local eateries while supporting an important cause. Organizers say only a small number of tickets remain available for purchase at $50 each.
The fundraiser benefits Serenity, Inc., which provides free emergency shelter for individuals and families escaping domestic violence. Executive Director Stefany Isham stated Friday that approximately 30 to 40 tickets were still available but were selling quickly. Tickets can be purchased at The Purple Door, the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, or Serenity House.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Among the participating restaurants are Leo’s Italian Restaurant, Jango’s Pizza, Kona Grill, At The Curb, Ozark Pork and Fork, Little T’s Say Cheese, Rapp’ Barren, Holy Smokes, Bookworm’s Cafe, and The Spring House. Each will serve sample plates, giving attendees the opportunity to taste offerings from multiple vendors in a single evening.
In addition to the food, a friendly competition among the vendors will determine prize winners, judged by a panel. DJ Peace will provide entertainment and oversee music during the event, which will also feature an auction with items such as fishing trips and jewelry available for bidding.
Isham described the annual event as an experience that cannot be fully described in words, emphasizing the unique opportunity to directly support Serenity’s mission while enjoying local cuisine. Serenity's shelter can accommodate up to 30 individuals or families at a time, offering a safe harbor for those in need.
