The Mountain Home Bombers delivered a commanding performance Friday night, defeating Lake Hamilton 45-14 in a crucial 6A-West conference matchup at Bomber Stadium. The victory keeps Mountain Home atop the conference standings with a 5-0 record, improving their overall season to 7-1 and securing a spot in the 6A playoffs.

Lake Hamilton struck first with an 80-yard touchdown pass on the opening play, taking an early 7-0 lead. However, Mountain Home responded quickly. The Wolves’ next offensive drive was cut short at the Bomber 31-yard line after the Bombers’ defense forced a turnover on downs. Shortly after, quarterback Conner Gentry connected with Gus Wilber for a 23-yard pass, setting up a 16-yard touchdown pass to Eli Reiss to tie the game at 7-7 following Isaac Ballard’s extra-point kick.

The Bombers seized control late in the first quarter when Gentry found Wilber for a 36-yard touchdown pass. On the ensuing kickoff, Atreyu Szabo forced a fumble, recovered by Reiss. Running back Naz Johnson capitalized with a 1-yard rushing touchdown, extending the Bombers' lead to 21-7 early in the second quarter.

Mountain Home's opportunistic defense continued to stifle Lake Hamilton, as Reiss and Will Rauls each recovered turnovers. Gentry threw another touchdown pass to Wilber, this time for 35 yards, to give the Bombers a commanding 28-7 lead by halftime.

Special teams contributed early in the third quarter with Seth Lara returning the kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Lake Hamilton managed one more score, a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, but Mountain Home's defense stepped up again with interceptions from Rauls and Jake Thomas. Gentry capped off the offensive effort with a 44-yard touchdown pass to Wilber in the fourth quarter, and Ballard added a 28-yard field goal to seal the 45-14 victory.

Defensive highlights included two key sacks by Ford Coleman, who disrupted Lake Hamilton’s passing attack late in the first half.

Head coach Steve Ary credited his players for their strong execution on both sides of the ball. The Bombers now shift focus to their road game next week at Van Buren as they continue their push for a conference championship.
