The 79th Annual Jonesboro Christmas Parade will take place on Monday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., featuring the theme "A Night Before Christmas."

The parade route begins at the Main Street bridge in downtown Jonesboro, proceeds south along Main Street, and concludes at Oak Avenue.

Organizers announced the parade has now been established as a nonprofit organization. "This exciting new chapter allows us to make an even greater impact in our community by putting sponsorships, donations, and funds raised through the parade toward a greater purpose," they said in a statement on social media.

This year, winners in each parade category will have the opportunity to direct proceeds to a nonprofit organization of their choice.

Registration is open through Nov. 27, with a fee of $55 per entry. Categories include floats, walking groups, vehicles, and auto/ATV clubs. Each entry must register separately, including companies or groups wishing to enter multiple categories, according to the event's website. Fees are nonrefundable.

The parade organizers are also accepting one-time and monthly donations to ensure the event continues for future generations. Sponsorship opportunities are available, with this year’s sponsors including First Horizon Bank, Darner, Yellow Gorilla Marketing Agency, Soncom Media, and the Jonesboro Tourism & Visitors Bureau.
