A Baxter County man was arrested after an alleged assault on an 82-year-old cancer patient during a confrontation at a residence in Midway. Dillon Paul Page, 31, is being held at the Baxter County Detention Center on multiple charges, including a felony count of second-degree battery.

According to a probable cause affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the residence after receiving a report of a disturbance. Two individuals reportedly informed one of the deputies that Page had fled the scene on foot. Another deputy located and detained him shortly afterward.

Investigators learned that Page had been drinking throughout the day and playing video games on a PlayStation with another person in the home. When Page became frustrated while teaching the other individual to play because the game controller was malfunctioning, he reportedly began yelling and physically assaulting the woman.

An 82-year-old man, who was inside the home at the time, heard the altercation and came to investigate. According to the report, Page allegedly shoved the elderly man down porch steps, causing injuries. When the man managed to stand, Page reportedly pushed him against a wall. Deputies were informed that the victim is undergoing treatment for cancer.

A second man in the household reportedly intervened, prompting Page to leave the residence. Emergency personnel from Baxter Health were dispatched to evaluate the injured man.

Authorities said Page agreed to a preliminary breath test at the scene. Results indicated he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.24, three times the legal limit of 0.08 in Arkansas.

Page faces a felony charge of second-degree battery involving a person age 60 or older. He is also charged with third-degree domestic battery and public intoxication, both misdemeanors. His bond has been set at $7,500.
